Halcyon was one of the words in BJD-Sparks this month's sparks, and also one of my favorite words. In addition to the meanings mentioned in the group's journal, Halcyon is also a genus of tree kingfishers, named after a bird in Greek mythology. Halcyon was an ice bird who calmed the sea so it could nest on it. That's the whole reason 'halcyon' even means calm.
